Easy Ways to Save Money on Fast Food

Some fast food restaurants charge the same as a sit-down restaurant. Here are some easy ways to save money on fast food without paying more than you should!

It's bad for both my health and my bank account. Seriously! Have you seen how much some combo meals cost? For our family of four, we can sometimes spend more at Subway than we can for a nice sit-down meal with a tip! That's insane. While fast food can be convenient when you only have 30 seconds before your next child's soccer game, here are some tips to help you spend less on fast food by using coupons such as Zomato coupon code, Swiggy coupons & more.

Be aware of your surroundings

As previously stated, some fast-food restaurants can cost the same as or more than a nice sit-down restaurant. Be aware of these locations and avoid them.

Be inventive

Ordering two smaller meals can sometimes cost more than splitting one larger meal. For example, ordering a foot long Subway sandwich and splitting it is frequently less expensive than paying for two 6 inch sandwiches.

Exercise portion control

While the image of a Whopper or a foot-long sub may entice you, consider your health first and what you are about to eat. Aside from the cost, some of those sandwiches may contain enough fat and calories to last you half the day. Instead of paying an extra $5 for a mega-sandwich, opt for something smaller and more modest, such as a plain cheeseburger or chicken sandwich. These options are not only less expensive, but they will also stay in your gut for a shorter period of time.

Leave out the extras

Leave out the bacon and cheese, as delicious as they are. Some establishments charge up to a dollar extra for each of these up-sells. By omitting the add-ons, you can make your sandwich both cheaper and healthier.

Cut the fries in half

I am a huge fan of french fries. But I'm also aware that they're bad for me. So, instead of ordering two, I'll usually offer to buy one and split it with someone else. We not only eat less, but it always works out to be less.

Always make use of a coupon

When it comes to fast food, there is never a shortage of coupons available. Look in the local paper or on the internet. Check out Askmeoffers or CouponsABC for latest deals such as Dominos coupon codes, Zomato coupons, etc. When it comes to coupons, don't forget to double-check the receipt. There is frequently a coupon code for something free the next time you visit.

Whenever possible, order water

I can't emphasise this enough: drinking water is one of the healthiest and most cost-effective ways to save money. Not only will you avoid all of the calories in a sugary soda, but you will also avoid paying $2 per drink. If you must order a drink, get the smallest size available. Most fast-food restaurants offer free refills. So as long as you get up and refill your drink, you'll save some money.

Always re-fill your glass before leaving

You're not done with that drink just because the meal is over! Fill your cup and bring it with you. It doesn't matter if you're thirsty or not right now. You will be at some point, and you will be glad you got that free refill when you do.

Instead of making coffee at home, drink it at work

Do you like to drink coffee? Is there free coffee at your workplace? If this is the case, consider it another employer benefit and save yourself the expense of purchasing everything you'll need to make it at home. Is there no coffee at work? You don't like it? Okay, then brew it yourself. It will be MUCH less expensive than paying for it at a restaurant on a daily basis.

Develop a taste for plain coffee

If you must order coffee, learn to appreciate it plain. Avoid the high-priced, sugary versions that cost $5 or more. Not only do they contain far more sugar than you need in a day, but they are also far more expensive than plain coffee.
